Rich media, unique content advised for SEO

Website owners could see a number of benefits through the production of unique content and multimedia pages, it has been claimed.
Unique web pages can provide a significant boost to search engine optimisation (SEO) activities, while rich media may prove particularly attractive to Google, which is incorporating more multimedia elements into its search results, E-consultancy editor-in-chief Chris Lake noted.
He went on to emphasise the importance of ensuring that all sales channels work in tandem across an organisation to avoid the possibility of losing potential sales, as consumers are increasingly conducting web-based research to make offline purchases.
Indeed, an Opinion Research Corporation study conducted earlier this year highlighted the fact that many consumers are now utilising user-generated reviews as part of their shopping activities.
"Equally, offline channels like TV advertising are driving a lot of sales online. So if you don't have a particular piece of the jigsaw, you're probably losing out," Mr Lake remarked.
